“The future belongs to the nation that best educates its citizens”

                                    - PRESIDENT OBAMA

Now is the time for ideas.  Now is the time for action.  We can no longer be content in “debating” the issues we believe will make schools better.  Rather, we are now at the time where we need to demonstrate that desire.  This is why school districts across the country are being encouraged to seek radical changes.

To me, this means that communities must commit to a change in culture concerning their educational systems.  This means adding more people to school boards who possess the visionary leadership and strategic skills that can compliment the educational expertise that already exists.

I am committed to proving my abilities to be such a leader for Madison schools.  I am equally committed to eliminating any bureaucratic process that paralyses innovation and the achievement of our vision.

Now it is time for Madison schools to become (as we have in so many other quality of life categories) one of those educational “pockets of success” that are emerging around the county.

Accepting the Challenge

Tom Farley is a fiscally conservative progressive; a Community Leader who cares deeply about Madison and whose passion for education is nationally recognized.
